| The Access Board The Access Board is an independent Federal
agency devoted to accessibility for people with
disabilities. Some features of this site are:
- Access Currents is a
free newsletter published by the Board. Scroll to
the bottom of the main page and click on the
Access Currents link. This newsletter comes out
every other month. In addition to website access,
you can also subscribe to the electronic version
through e-mail or request print copies.
- Accessibility Guidelines and
Standards provides guidelines and standards in
the areas of facilities (ADA Accessibility
Guidelines), transportation (ADA Accessibility
Guidelines for Transportation) and communications
(Electronic and Information Technology
Accessibility Standards (Section 508)).
- The Access Board also
provides Technical Assistance, Training and
Research. For information on training schedules
or research projects, check out this page.
- Updates is another service
by e-mail. Updates covers activities related to
the development of new or updated guidelines and
standards established by the Access Board.
Notification of new rules and notices are sent to
you as soon as they are published. Past updates
are posted chronologically in the News Archives
section.
